Carola Pimentel’s entrée into the world of interior design was no coincidence. The daughter of a civil engineer and a mother with a flair for decorating, Pimentel shared her parents’ passion for both construction and interiors. In 1997 she graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and was hired by the elite Pavlik Design Team where she worked with some of the world’s the most recognized retail locations including Macy’s Herald Square in New York City and the Hyundai department store in Seoul, Korea. Her career then led her to take a job as Design Director for Echeverria Design Group, where she specialized in retail and commercial spaces managing every aspect of spatial planning, interior design and construction for retail locations including Kippling stores, Carnevale restaurant in Miami Beach and the Rosenbaum Fine Art Gallery at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA).

Pimentel’s zealous approach to design and diverse work experience motivated her to start her own company. In July 2000, she founded Assure Interiors Inc., with a mission to create beautifully elegant spaces using innovative, yet functional ideas that incorporate fresh, stylish and glamorous elements. Since its inception, Assure has worked on both residential and commercial spaces in South Florida, New York, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

A native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and having worked in exotic places such as Puerto Rico, Korea and El Salvador, Pimentel is no stranger to world travel and says that is where she draws most of her inspiration. “Every trip I take helps me apply new elements to my work,” says Pimentel. “Colors, fabrics and textures are different in every part of the world and a wonderful idea can come from just touching a unique piece of material at a flea market or seeing the vibrant colors of the vegetation in a foreign country.” Pimentel describes her personal style as minimalist, but her main focus is to make sure that every space, whether classic or modern, exudes a livable and timeless elegance.
